Latte

Latte was rescued in early 2007 from the "kill pen" at New Holland auction.
He was thrown away ... his only fault and crime being that he wasn't fast enough.

Prior to the closure of all three foreign-owned plans in the U.S., over 100,000 horses
were being slaughtered in the United States and processed for human consumption.
Now, tens of thousands of live horses are transported across the border to
Mexico and Canada for slaughter. After these horses are killed, their flesh is
shipped to Europe and Asia for human consumption. Their owners are often unaware
of the pain, fear, and suffering their horses endure before being slaughtered.

Latte was on his way to being a statistic...

When I First Saw Him...

I knew that I had to have this gorgeous boy ... !
I fell in love with his eyes instantly.

Latte is with us today because JO DEIBEL and Angel Acres Horse Haven Rescue, Inc.
She pulled him from the "kill pen" at the auction.

He had been beaten and starved before going to auction.
Today he is a lovable, sweet, and smart 8 year old companion pet.
I thank God every day that he is here with us.
